Notes on Publishing

As part of its ongoing commitment to fostering dialogue around artistic research, writing, and publishing, Celadon Center for Arts & Ecologies presented Notes on Publishing, a public discussion reflecting on contemporary publishing practices.

The event emerged from a publication conceived by Celadon within the context of Limassol 2030 bid proposal. Tentatively titled Limani, meaning port in both Greek and Turkish, the publication was imagined as a springboard for the city’s European Capital of Culture programme and as a platform for engaging with artistic developments across the Eastern Mediterranean. Each issue would be developed by a small editorial team in collaboration with partner organisations, artists, researchers, and cultural practitioners from Cyprus and beyond, creating a space for exchange across diverse geographies, disciplines, and perspectives.

Notes on Publishing took the form of an open discussion with invited contributors on how such a publication might take shape, considering its aims, methodologies, editorial processes, and potential role within the cultural landscape of the region.
