As one of the two inaugural projects of Celadon Center for Arts & Ecologies, the international interdisciplinary conference and parallel programme Learning with Mountains: Recalibrating How We Understand Art and Planet was held from 6–8 February 2025.
Focusing on the relationship between artistic practice and ecology, the conference brought together artists, curators, researchers, and scholars to explore new ways of understanding the interconnections between art, landscape, and the more-than-human world. Organised by Celadon Center for Arts & Ecologies, the programme took place over three days, with sessions held at ARTos Cultural and Research Foundation in Nicosia and at Kapedes Primary School.
The conference explored the different ways in which we can experience, coexist with, and understand the natural world and the environmental commons through the arts. The programme comprised keynote presentations, twenty-minute papers followed by Q&A sessions, workshops, walks, and screenings.
